Why not build?

Purchasing land and building a new facility would be significantly more expensive. This location allows us to grow while stewarding our resources responsibly.

We have added services in the past and continue to see growth at a rate that requires more space to welcome new people.

Over the past year, we’ve grown by nearly 2,000 people. What a blessing! With that growth, we’ve also outgrown our current space. We are now seeking a new home that can support where we are and where God is leading us next.

Our leadership is continually seeking the next right opportunity for our church. If this location does not work out, we will continue to pray and trust God for what He has next for us.

We agree that missions and serving others are a very important part of who we are. The building will help us multiply that impact, allowing us to train, send, and mobilize even more people for ministry both locally and globally.

Our growth is not limited to Sundays. We are also seeing growth in midweek ministries, classes, and events. The future of Trace includes creating more space and opportunities for people to grow in their faith throughout the week.

We are committed to church planting and continually evaluate participating in new church plants. At the same time, the growth we are seeing is happening right here in Colorado Springs. This opportunity would allow us to support that growth with excellence while keeping our church family together and connected under one roof.

We believe God is calling Trace to a personal connection and gathering of the church. While multi-site can be an effective ministry method, we believe in this season that Trace is called to leading with in-person gatherings, which now requires more space as we grow.

Our growth has outpaced this as an option. While we investigated it carefully, it would only be a temporary solution to a long-term need. Leasing the building doesn’t address the space required for the growth we’ve already seen or the growth we believe is still ahead.

We plan to sell this building. We are in discussions with potential buyers and are not yet able to communicate a final plan.
